Doug Johnson
Class,
Talked to Doug and he would like the class to know so prayers can be lifted. The doctors now have determined he has multiple pulmonary emboli. He had blood clots a number of years ago in his leg that resulted from a fracture and the doctors now say they think they are back in that area and could be the source of those showing up in the lungs. He may go home Saturday or if not then it will be Monday or Tuesday. They are trying to get some injection treatments approved by his insurance and that could keep him in the hospital Monday. Thanks Tammy for summarizing and getting this info out to the class.
On Friday, Doug Johnson had to leave work early due to an arterial fib. Luckily the doctor questioned things and did a CT-scan and thought he had two pulmonary emboli in his lungs. If they had moved into the blood stream this would have caused a stroke or heart attack. After further testing they determined he has multiple pulmonary emboli. Doug had blood clots a number of years ago in his leg that resulted from a fracture and the doctors now say they think they are back in that area and could be the source of those showing up in the lungs. Doug should only be in the hospital a few days but please keep Doug and his family in your prayers. Also praise God that he went to the hospital when he did and the doctors were able to diagnose his condition quickly.
Bob Lucas
Bob had his post op appointment for the fistula yesterday morning. We thought it was healing well, because he had not had much symptoms. The doctor saw a questionable spot which he thought might mean the fistula was back, so he scheduled him for the surgery center this morning to go in and have a better look and maybe put the drain in again if the fistula was back. Results are that the flap area where he sealed off the fistula appear healing or healed?? And this spot was further back and appeared to be a superficial abscess area. He opened it and cleaned it out and stitched it open to heal. He thinks again he is ok, no fistula!
Bob has still been having the back pain pretty bad, especially late afternoon and evening, still unsure how he is going to proceed with that. He has a chance for a 3 week job starting May 2nd and we really need him to be able to do this job, and be able to manage the pain or be pain free enough. He did just talk with the neurosurgeons assistant and asked her about physical therapy and they are going to get him an order for that. He only has a week before he will be leaving for the job on May 1st.
Bob had several endoscopies 2 or 3 years ago for his esophagus where they had to stretch his esophagus opening and clear out some scar tissue. He has had symptoms with that again in the last 4 to 6 months and has an endoscopy scheduled tomorrow morning to have treatment on his esophagus.
Thanks.

Is this the first ever portrait of Jesus?
The image is eerily familiar: a bearded young man with flowing curly hair. After lying for nearly 2,000 years hidden in a cave in the Holy Land, the fine detail is difficult to determine. But in a certain light it is not difficult to interpret the marks around the figure’s brow as a crown of thorns.
The extraordinary picture of one of the recently discovered hoard of up to 70 lead codices – booklets – found in a cave in the hills overlooking the Sea of Galilee is one reason Bible historians are clamouring to get their hands on the ancient artefacts.
If genuine, this could be the first-ever portrait of Jesus Christ, possibly even created in the lifetime of those who knew him.
